Still itching for new wars.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney plans to give a speech in September about the Iran nuclear deal to the conservative American Enterprise Institute.Cheney, who is notably not in jail, is of course a longstanding expert on what not to do in the Middle East. He will no doubt be brimming with new, innovative ideas and strategies on who next to carpet bomb and why the latest target of his ire would also greet America as liberators. He will do all of this from a comfy chair, very far away from any of the places he is opining on.
Cheney is set to give the speech Sept. 8, just more than a week before Congress votes on the deal Sept. 17, according to an AEI news release.God, how I wish Dick Cheney would throw his hat in the ring in the Republican presidential race. We've got every other kind of lunatic already well represented, but there's nobody who can snarl his way through explanations for why torture is good and murdering tens of thousands of people is righteous quite like Dick can. It seems a shame to waste his apocalyptic narcissism on a meager audience of American Enterprise Institute hardliners.
